I am a graduate of Castleton State College (Bachelor of Arts) and NC State University (Master of School Administration). I began my career in education as a Kindergarten Teacher in Vermont in 1997, then moved with my family to Raleigh in 1998 where I was hired as a 1st Grade Teacher at Powell GT Magnet Elementary. In 2001 I entered into the Principal Fellows Program and graduated (Class 8 of the PFP) with my degree in education administration. I worked at Weatherstone Elementary in Cary, NC as Assistant Principal from 2003-2006 and in the spring of 2006 I was hired as Principal of Middle Creek YR Elementary in Apex, NC. In 2010, I came back home to Powell GT Magnet Elementary, only this time as Principal. I am proud to be surrounded by such amazing students, dedicated staff members and supportive community members. I have a wife (who is a 1st Grade Teacher at Leadmine Elementary) and two children (daughter 7 yrs old and son 4 yrs old). My daughter attends Powell GT Magnet as a second grader and has the unique perspective of spending lots of time in the Principal’s Office. :)
